1. Because pitbulls have a “notoriously violent” image, you will find it hard to believe that pitbulls are great as therapy dogs.  They can be seen commonly in senior-care facilities or as companions for people recovering from accidents. 
2. Pitbulls have a very well-developed sense of smell that's why they make great police dogs, specializing in narcotics and bomb detection. 
3. Because of their skills and hardiness, pitbulls make great dogs for search and rescue operations too.
4. One of the more interesting, if not surprising, pitbull facts is that they are great with children.   You can surely depend on a pitbull to watch and protect your kids.
5. The pitbull was quite popular during the first and second World Wars, that their images were used in recruitment campaigns and propaganda back then.
6. A pitbull by the name of Sgt. Stubby was declared a “war hero” when he single-handedly captured a spy and when he warned and saved his entire platoon of a gas attack.  
7. Pitbulls are also popular in the movies.  The character known as “Pete the Pup” was a pitbull in the original version of the movie “Little Rascals.”
8. Pitbulls perform really well.  Based on the American Temperament Test Society, these dogs have a high pass rate of 83.4% which is very high as compared with one of the more popular breeds. 
9. Pitbulls are not aggressive to humans.  They are gentle and loving creatures. 
10.  Pitbulls are not meant to kill.  The only group of people raising them as such is mostly the criminals and the outlaws such as gangs and mobs, which are often engaged in illegal activities such as drug and gun trafficking.
